Slow down!

Slow down!

I have heard this before. But did not pay attention. I was so much obsessed with money. Have a well-paid job or a profit generating business! This was a must. Why? Because I needed money to pay for everything I need. And what did I need? What did I really need? Not much indeed. But I was not able to see because I was in a hurry. Because I was told what I needed. Because I did not listen to the voice inside.

If I only knew that everything I needed was already given to me! No, no. This is not possible! Where? How? Day after day, I had to fight, earn enough money, pay the bills, purchase nice stuff and feel safe. What was nice? Again hard to define by myself. It was defined by others. Who cares about the energy lost? Who cares about the wasted time on such purposeless activities?

Slow down!

I have heard this before. But did not pay attention. Adrenaline was the name of the game. Driving fast? Why not? Who cares about the child at the corner? I am going to feel the boss on this street! Now! Vanity and greed, the fuel of adrenaline hunger. More and more of anything at any cost and immediately if possible. If you are slow, you lose. The competition would eat you alive or leave you without any resources. Who cares about the energy lost? Who cares about the wasted time on such purposeless activities?

Slow down!

I have heard this before. But did not pay attention as sex was the driving force. I just could not resist. I just did not have a chance to escape. Our society did not give me a chance. Everything around me was built on sex. TV, ads, movies, fashion. Everything, everywhere. If I only knew the only thing I had to do was to just slow down and not pay attention.  No, no. This is absurd! Why would I do it? Sex is fun, sex is nice! Sex sells everything! Who cares about the energy lost? Who cares about the wasted time on such a purposeless activity?

Slow down!

I have heard this before. But did not pay attention. I was so much in a hurry to complete my presentation. Adjust the colors, adjust the shapes, ah they are not aligned, go back, review, again and again, hour after hour. And at the end? 20 minutes of presentation and a loud “Well done!” Who cares about the energy lost? Who cares about the wasted time on such a purposeless activity?

Slow down!

I have heard this before! Now at the end of my days I am at last able to slow down. But what for? To realize the painful reality of a wasted life?

Slow down! Immediately!

We live our lives at a very high speed omitting the valuable moments. We need to strike a balance. We need to slow down and focus.

Slow down! And everything you are chasing will come around and catch you.
