No doubts you should be really careful when it comes to decide on your daily menu if you are susceptible to hemorrhoids. Goal number one is to avoid constipation at any cost. Thus you have to choose foods which will let you easily empty the guts.

In general fresh fruits and vegetables, cereals, nuts should be constant part of your daily menu. They contain fibres, vitamin C and flavonoids which strengthen the sides of the veins. Your food should be also rich in vitamins and mineral salts.

However you should base the selection of your food on the type of constipation you are trying to avoid or currently have.

Decreased peristalsis and lazy bowels

In case of decreased peristalsis and lazy bowels it is recommended that you focus on food rich in fiber and ballast substances, such as vegetables and fruits with rough fiber, wholemeal bread, fermented beverages. You should include larger amounts of fat and carbohydrates in concentrated form.

You may not eat rice, rusks, toasted bread, chocolate, tallow, strong black tea, cocoa. These are particularly detrimental to your state. In addition avoid mixing proteins with carbohydrates (meat with potatoes for instance, or meat with bread).

You should prepare your meals by cooking, baking in the oven, steaming, frying.

Spastic Constipation

In case of the spastic form of constipation you have to eat foods without cellulose and gross irritants. In the daily menu include more fat and concentrated carbohydrates (fresh, jams, honey)

You may not eat spicy cheese with sharp spices, spicy salty canned meat and fish, jerky, sausage, smoked meats, dry sausages, rice, rusks, toasted bread, chocolate, onions, radishes, turnips, eggplant, medlar, pomegranate, lemons, blueberries, chili pepper and paprika peppers, horseradish.

You should prepare your meals by cooking, grilling and steaming. Avoid fried foods and browning of food.

It is highly recommended to drink a lot of water. A lot means more than 1.5 liters a day.

Eat 4 to 5 times a day. Periodically (which means 2 to 3 days per week) eat only fruits or only vegetables the whole day.

Fruits to Fight Constipation
by: Anonymous

Important place in the diet of people from time immemorial is dedicated to fruits. They are delicious, and many of them can be used as medicine as well - for example against constipation.

If you want to live healthy it is better to get advantage of natural gifts. Many of the fruits that nature has gifted to us have a laxative effect - plums, strawberries, raspberries, apricots, pears, grapes, peaches and more.

Their laxative effect is due to stimulated bowel movements. Cellulose fiber speeds up metabolism and works well for lazy intestines. Of course, you should not overdo it because the pulp of certain fruits is irritating for some people, as for example pears.
The content of pectin in prunes of essential oils and volatile aromatic compounds in strawberries, raspberries and blackberries has marked bactericidal effect on the intestinal flora. In addition to intensified peristalsis, organic acids increase the secretion of digestive juices.

Rich content of vitamins in fruits favorably affects the whole body and especially the digestive processes. Apricots, peaches, strawberries, raspberries contain vitamins A, B1, B2, B8, C, and have beneficial effect on the function of intestines and stomach.

How should I take fruit to benefit from them against constipation?

Eat prunes in the morning on an empty stomach. 5-6 if they are fresh. If dried, soak them in the night in warm milk or water and eat them the following morning on an empty stomach.

Eat strawberries fresh and on an empty stomach. Particularly useful is the juice of strawberries, which has a good effect.

You can eat pears at any time - on an empty stomach or after eating.

Fruits can be taken as part of a normal diet, fasting morning or as a separate meal between meals, such as 10 am or 16 pm breakfast. Fruit juice can be drunk 30 minutes before meals. The combination of juices is particularly useful - strawberries and raspberries, pears and grapes, strawberries and apricots or peaches, etc..

To stimulate better absorption of food fruits must be taken before the main meal. If you have to deal with constipation is important how you have your meals. Remove all strong and unpleasant noises while eating and do not have fast food on the street.

The sedentary life also predispose to constipation. Daily walking, sports, tourism, cycling, swimming, exercise will help to eliminate this unpleasant condition.

Fresh Cabbage and Carrots Salad
by: Peter

Usually I put a strong emphasis on vegetables in my daily menu. At least one of the meals is 50% fresh vegetables salad.

I adore cabbage salad with carrots. The way I do it is to grate 1 part carrots for every 3 parts cabbage and mix those with olive oil and apple vinegar. I avoid putting salt.

1. This salad is extremely healthy because of the various vitamins.

2. I am never constipated. In case I have signs for this to happen I just eat one pewter of salad with nothing else and get things just right.
