Throat Feels Like There is Somthing stuck in it

by L HOWELL
(WEST MIDLANDS, UK)

My throat feels as if there is something stuck in it, the pain of it going through my shoulder sometimes. It comes and goes throughout the day but is sometimes constant. I don't appear to have any control over it all - it's most unpleasant. I suck mints to try and alleviate it but it doesn't really help. I just want it to go away.

Itching Throat
by: Pavel

Sometimes my throat itches. It is not an external feeling. Rather it comes from inside and is exactly at the place of the thyroid gland. I can't explain how helpless I feel when this begins. I want to put my hand in my throat and claw there but I can't. I just can't reach the spot. Coughing does not help; neither, external massage helps.

I have noticed that the itching comes when an abrupt whether change takes place; particularly from cold to warm and vice versa. My personal explanation for it is that the thyroid gland is responsible to produce the hormones that help human body to accommodate to changes in temperature and keep the constant body warmth. Maybe then the thyroid gets a shock and this is how it feels. Sometimes the feeling goes down to the clavicle and I feel it at every heart beat.

The only counter action that alleviates it is breathing fresh air. I try to combine it with moving my neck and shoulders; usually circular movements. I hope this would help you as well.

Regards
